چکیده
Abstract Nepenthes sumatrana is a tropical pitcher plant endemic to Sumatra. It has been categorised as critically endangered based on the IUCN Red List. often occupies in lowland forest of Its habitat threatened by land use conversion recent decade. Due high threats wild, conservation efforts are necessarily required. not possible assess all locations that suitable for this species. In terms addressing issue, Species Distribution Modelling considered an alternative way identify regions have similar environmental conditions where species known occur. The occurrence records were derived from Global Biodiversity Information Facility and reliable scientific papers. Topography, soil, climate cover used predictors model. MaxEnt algorithm was predict suitability. produces predictive model with AUC value 0.833 indicating good performance. habitats predicted several different information about suitability would be useful prioritize protected areas Furthermore, our findings valuable discovery unknown subpopulation.

متن کاملPopulation Density and Instream Habitat Suitability of the Endangered Cape Fear Shiner
—The Cape Fear shiner Notropis mekistocholas is an endangered minnow endemic to the Cape Fear River basin of North Carolina; only five populations remain, all of which are declining. Determining the population densities and habitat requirements of the species is critical to its survival and restoration planning. We conducted population surveys (four sites) and instream microhabitat suitability ...
متن کاملEstimating the population size of an endangered shorebird, the Madagascar plover, using a habitat suitability model
The Madagascar plover Charadrius thoracicus is a shorebird endemic to western Madagascar, currently classified as globally vulnerable. It is restricted to specialized wetland habitats that are increasingly threatened by humans. To inform future conservation measures for this poorly known species, we develop a predictive habitat suitability map and use this map to estimate the size of the Madaga...
متن کاملThe value of unprotected habitat in conserving the critically endangered Tana River red colobus (Procolobus rufomitratus)
We determined the importance of unprotected forest habitat outside the Tana River Primate National Reserve (TRPNR), Kenya, in conserving the critically endangered Tana red colobus. We compared colobus and forest attributes inside and outside the reserve and found no significant difference in colobus density or mean group size, although absolute values for both measures were higher outside the r...
متن کاملUncertainty in Various Habitat Suitability Models and Its Impact on Habitat Suitability Estimates for Fish
Species distribution models (SDMs) are extensively used to project habitat suitability of species in stream ecological studies. Owing to complex sources of uncertainty, such models may yield projections with varying degrees of uncertainty. To better understand projected spatial distributions and the variability between habitat suitability projections, this study uses five SDMs that are based on...
